Large-Print Scores and Books Catalog, a guide to the large-print collection in the Music Section, The National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Library of Congress, includes large-print music and books on music and musicians available as of January 2010.
This catalog is divided into two general sections, one for scores and the other for books. Scores are further divided into seven categories—brass, keyboard, percussion, strings, voice, woodwinds, and ensembles. Books are arranged into five groups—autobiographies and biographies, braille music notation, college-level texts, popular subjects, and reference tools.
Music for individual instruments is listed under the appropriate instrument family heading, e.g., piano music under keyboard and trumpet music under brass. The listings under voice include music as well as librettos and song and hymn texts.
Within the subsections for individual instruments and voice, pieces by a single composer are listed under the composer’s name. Collections of music by several composers are listed under collection titles. An alphabetical index to authors, composers, and titles is provided.
Publisher information has been omitted from the Scores section. However, this information is available in the NLS online catalog at http://nlscatalog.loc.gov, or can be found by calling the Music Section at 1-800-424-8567. Publishers have been included in the Books section.
Masters for large-print scores in the NLS music collection were variously handcopied, prepared from photo-enlarged print music, or produced by computer. Most handcopied and photo-enlarged music masters were prepared by members of Sigma Alpha Iota and Phi Beta honor fraternities and other volunteers.
Except where special sizes are noted and in books about music and musicians, the music staff size is approximately one inch. Books are printed commercially or are enlarged and reproduced by xerography. Minimum type size is 14 points. For illustration, we have provided a sample large-print music score in the centerfold of this catalog.

We three kings of Orient are

A hymn is born
I
I am woman
I asked the Lord
I can’t give you anything but love
I could have danced all night
I don’t know why
I don’t want to set the world on fire
I feel pretty
I found the answer
I got a rhythm
I got plenty o’ nuttin’
I got rhythm
(I got spurs) Jingle jangle jingle
I left my heart in San Francisco
I love Paris
I love thee (Grieg)
I love you truly
I never will marry
I ride an old paint
I surrender, dear
I talk to the trees
I was born about ten thousand years ago
I wish I didn’t love you so
I wonder
I’d rather be a cowboy (Lady’s chains)
I’ll follow the sun
I’ll get by
I’ll see you in Hawaii
I’ll take you home again, Kathleen
I’m alone because I love you
I’ve been working on the railroad
I’ve got a crush on you
I’ve got the whole world on a string
I’ve got you under my skin
Ich liebe dich (Edvard Grieg)
