Program Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film

2022 Prize Finalists

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden and filmmaker Ken Burns announced the 2022 Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film winners at an awards ceremony on Oct. 18, 2022. The hourlong ceremony featured Tracy Hamlin singing “America the Beautiful”; congressional remarks by Rep. Jamie Raskin and Sen. Roy Blunt; excerpts from the six finalist films; a message from The Better Angels Society with remarks by Amy Berg and Jeannie Lavine; and a discussion moderated by Jonathan Lavine and featuring Hayden, Burns and award-winning filmmakers Ross Hockrow (director of “Philly on Fire”) and Jeff L. Lieberman (director of “Bella!”).
