For the first time, the National Book Festival ran for two days on the National Mall.

Attendance: 200,000

Featured authors, illustrators, poets, and storytellers included:

  • Author and Academy Award-nominated author Julianne Moore
  • Cassandra Clare, author of The Mortal Instruments series
  • Pulitzer Prize and National Humanities Medal-winner Isabel Wilkerson
