Program National Book Festival

2020

The 2020 National Book Festival may have been an all-virtual affair, but it was no less exciting and provocative than the 19 Festivals that preceded it.

This was the 20th occurrence of a Festival that annually attracts the participation of the nation’s finest authors, poets and illustrators. This year, the more than 120 participants were able to engage in live conversations with fans from across the country, who could join in from the comfort of their homes. No need to travel to Washington to ask a question of a favorite author.

Be sure to also explore the thematic “threads” of author presentations focusing on “Democracy in the 21st Century,” “Fearless Women,” and “Hearing Black Voices.”

Featured authors included:

  • Madeleine Albright
  • Colson Whitehead
  • Haben Girma
  • John Grisham
  • Tomi Adeyemi
