Connecting Communities Digital Initiative (CCDI)
The Connecting Communities Digital Initiative (CCDI) is part of the Library’s Of the People: Widening the Path program with support from the Mellon Foundation. This four-year program provides financial and technical support to individuals, institutions and organizations to create imaginative projects using the Library’s digital collections and centering one or more of the following groups: Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and other communities of color from any of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and its territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands).
Grant for Artist/Scholar in Residence
The Artist/Scholar in Residence program supports artists or scholars in the creation of new scholarly and/or artistic works that imaginatively study, experiment with, and/or critique the Library’s digital collections, materials, and/or services. Proposed projects should center one or more of the following groups: Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and/or other communities of color in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands).
The program is open to a broad array of artists and scholars, including (but not limited to): visual artists, conceptual artists, dancers, journalists, cultural critics, independent scholars, academic scholars, and cultural heritage practitioners, including librarians. For 2023, the Library intends to award two 12-month grants of up to $90,000 each.

The Grant for Libraries, Archives, Museums provides support to libraries, archives, and museums that use Library of Congress digital materials to create projects that center one or more of the following groups: Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and/or other communities of color in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands).
The program is open to US-based, non-profit libraries, archives, and museums. For 2023, the Library intends to award three 12-month grants of up to $70,000 each.

Grant for Higher Education
The Grant for Higher Education supports minority serving higher education institutions in the development of projects that use Library of Congress digital materials and that center one or more of the following groups: Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and/or other communities of color in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands).
The program is open to 2-year or 4-year minority serving higher education institutions based in the United States. For 2023, the Library intends to award three 12-month grants of up to $70,000 each.
Applications are open May 17, 2023 through 2:00 PM Eastern Time on September 7, 2023.
