Want to view VHP collections in person?

Our collections are available to registered readers in the American Folklife Center Reading Room.
You will need to schedule an appointment at least 10 days in advance of your anticipated visit. This includes family members seeking to view their veteran’s collection. Use our Ask a Librarian service to schedule an appointment.
If you are a first-time researcher at the Library of Congress, you will also need to get a Reader Identification Card, which you can do on the same day as your visit. Please see the For Researchers section of our website for more information.
Some collections can be viewed online. Please see our FAQ about viewing digitized collections
