Provided below are finding aids and collection guides providing researchers with in-depth information about the Recorded Sound Research Center's collections. Most of the finding aids below describe the paper collections of the Center. The guides provide topical approaches to searching for audio collections and in depth information about locating recordings in our larger and frequently used collections.

  • Research Guides The Recorded Sound Section has several research guides providing assistance finding sound recordings on subjects such as women's suffrage, and politics and public affairs. We also include search strategies for finding some of our key collections such as the NBC Radio Collection, The Major Bowes Amateur Hour collection and other holdings.
  • Finding Aids The National Audio-Visual Conservation Center is one of several Library divisions participating in the effort to develop more fully navigable finding aids using Encoded Archival Description (EAD).
