Munich, August 1946. Bürgerbräu (the famous Munich beer hall) sub-basement. Used as air raid shelter and also for evacuation of the Rehse collection. Some hundred cases removed from here to National Museum in Sept. 1945 and then to the Mission's rooms in Munich Collection Point, Jan. 1946, where materials were sorted into three parts a) for restitution, b) for LCM, c) for turning over to existing German libraries.
