Senate hears husband of tobacco heiress on monetary problems. Washington, D.C., Aug 4. James H.R. Cromwell, monetary expert and author of "In Defense of Capitolism," urged a senate agriculture subcommittee today to grant powers for the Federal Reserve Board to stabilize the dollar and increase the flow of money. At the same time, Cromwell, who is husband of Doris Duke, tobacco heiress, voiced his approval of a bill by Senator Elmer Thomas which the Committee is considering, 8/4/37
