Within the Health Sciences Library at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center Campus in Aurora, Colorado, this sculpture, called "Humanescence" by artist Rae Douglass, is the artist's depiction of The Visible Human. Funded by the National Library of Medicine, the Visible Human project was the first to digitize the human body. The sculpture's name is derived from Human, Essence, and Luminescence
