Notes
-  Offering practical advice, J. W. Paxton, the superintendent of street cleaning, writes to the architect, Waddy Wood, who is in charge of the erection of the inaugural stand for President Wilson in front of the White House. It was Wood's intention to use the inaugural stand that was constructed for President Taft's inauguration in 1909, but Paxton suggests a modification to the base of that stand to allow water to flow beneath it to avoid the pools of water in the street that had caused "a great deal of inconvenience to the public" during Taft's inauguration.
