  • The Afghan Media Resource Center (AMRC) Collection documents the Afghan-Soviet war in the 80s and its aftermath in the early 90s, focusing on the areas controlled by the Afghan Mujahidin and the military and political activities of the anti-Soviet movement. This collection consists of 1,175 hours of videotape, 94,651 black & white and color photos and slides, and 356 hours of audio recordings. The photograph collection is accessible onsite by appointment at the African and Middle Eastern Reading Room. The AMRC daily newspaper titled, Iradah, published from 2005 to 2012, can also be requested in the AMED Reading Room. For access to AMRC's audiovisual materials, contact the NAVCC's Moving Image and Recorded Sound Research Centers in the Library's Madison Building.
