Provided U.S. and Canadian sales forecasts for passenger cars and light trucks. Included a segment sales analysis of automobiles based on data provided by the publication Automotive News. WEFA was absorbed into IHS. This source is good for historical coverage in the 1980's and 1990's. External Link

This is a good site for those looking to research buying a new or used car with car facts and reviews. This is not necessarily a place to buy cars but to research makes and models though there is the ability to "check availability." There is a Data Center External Link which is good for statistics on makes and models as well as other related statistics like market share and recalls.

IHS Subscription Resource External Link

Presents subscribers with comprehensive analysis, forecasts, and data on the automotive industry. Data via IHS comes from print sources from Global Access and WEFA. It also includes information from R.L. Polk & Co. which consists of two divisions – Polk and CARFAX – that provide a market intelligence, tools and analytics and extensive vehicle history information.

The NADA Data section is a good source of data and includes the Monthly Sales Recap, the publication NADA Market Beat, Dealership Financial Profiles, Automotive Retailing State by State, and used car guidelines.

Ward's Auto Data Center External Link

Ward's publishes many print sources seen throughout this guide. They also publish information on their web page that can be purchased. It includes domestic U.S. data as well as international data on cars and light trucks. It includes sales, plant information, equipment, SAAR, etc. They do offer some Public Data External Link for popular data tables with registration.
