Publication and other forms of distribution: No known restrictions. Published photos in this collection were published more than 95 years ago and are now in the public domain. Photos that were unpublished are also in the public domain (copyright protection for unpublished works lasts for the life of the artist + 70 years; Mathew Brady died in 1896 and Levin C. Handy died in 1932).

Access: Subject to P&P policy on serving originals, which requires the use of digital images in lieu of the originals.

Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying, photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair use"): Subject to P&P policy on copying, which prohibits photocopying of the original items.
