The Science Reading Room has articles on adventure travel, ecotourism, and learning vacations in its vertical file EDUCATIONAL AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. Journals such as Natural History, E-the Environmental Magazine, Earthwatch, Explorer News, National Geographic Traveler, and Smithsonian sometimes have adventure travel articles and often carry advertisements for safaris, bird-watching trips, and eco-travel opportunities. Subject interest journals, such as Backpacker, Skin Diver, and Soaring, are also good sources of information for the adventure-bound individual.
