How We Work
FRD begins most projects by gaining an understanding of the client and the issues they want to address. Often that involves a literature review, business analysis, or research quality assessment. Through regular meetings with the client, FRD ensures the developing research remains well focused, on schedule, and within scope and budget.
FRD has access to unique research resources within the vast holdings of the Library of Congress, where the digital content includes 300+ databases; 66,000 electronic journals; and digitized maps, images, and general collection items. The analog collections feature 36 million cataloged books, 70 million manuscripts, 14 million photographs, 6 million maps, and 3 million legal documents. These holdings are augmented by six overseas offices that collect materials from 86 countries.
