General Help
Search terms can be single words or phrases. Do not omit words in a phrase. Use Series of Unfortunate Events, not Series Unfortunate Events. Try using shorter searches, if you are getting no results. Use the question mark to truncate words.
Examples of Author Searches
Use for searching authors, narrators, editors, etc. Examples:
- Clark Mary Higgins (last name first, no comma necessary)
- Shakespeare (last name alone will work)
- Gian? in the author search field retrieve books narrated by Laura Giannarelli.
Examples of Title Searches
Use for searching titles, titles in contents notes, and series titles. Examples:
- wind in the willows (enter words in same order as in title)
- oz (retrieves Wizard of Oz, Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Ozma of Oz)
- star wars (retrieves series titles)
Examples of Keyword Searches
Use for searching anywhere in record: names, subjects, notes, annotation, etc. Examples:
- DB 55378 (retrieves by book number; spacing counts)
- dogs (retrieves dogs records)
- mystery fiction (retrieves subject headings)
