Cataloging Peer Council Top
The FEDLINK Cataloging Peer Council (FEDCAT-L) is a closed, unmoderated,
list for FEDLINK members only. This structure facilitates the purpose of
FEDCAT-L: to provide answers to FEDLINK members' practical cataloging questions
and to cull from a broad number of electronic resources only those postings
most relevant to FEDLINK's cataloging products and services, and advisory
support mission. Discussions are routinely monitored by the FEDLINK Cataloging
Peer Council -- a small, carefully selected, group of highly experienced
federal catalogers acknowledged by the bibliographic utilities and their
peers as leaders, speakers, instructors, and experts in specific MARC formats
and subject areas.

Reference Librarians' Discussion List Top
FEDREF-L is a moderated list for reference librarians in the federal government,
although other subscribers are welcome to join. The list is maintained by
the FLICC Reference/Public Services Working Group, whose mission is to explore
the potential for increased networking and sharing among federal libraries,
to exchange information about available services and collections, and to
establish guidelines for sharing expertise (e.g., unique data bases, special
subject guides). The list provides a forum for discussion of issues affecting
the whole range of federal library public services including reference, interlibrary
loan, and circulation.

OCLCFED: FEDLINK OCLC Members List Top
OCLCFED is a moderated mailing list intended for the staff of US federal
libraries and information centers that are members of the OCLC Online Computer
Library Center. The list is maintained by the FEDLINK Network Operations
(FNO) OCLC Team. FNO will use the list to distribute general information
about products and prices, policies and practices of OCLC and the FEDLINK
OCLC network and to distribute messages from list subscribers that are likely
to be of general interest to all subscribers.
All subject areas related to OCLC and federal libraries' use of OCLC will
be covered. To help you route messages within your library, the message's
subject line will start with a regular character string that indicated the
subject area of the message: GENERAL, TECHSVCS, ILL/UL, REF, and ACCESS.
Rather than duplicate information covered on other FEDLINK mailing lists
such as FEDCAT-L and FEDREF-L, from time to time OCLCFED will carry summaries
of information posted to other lists. The list may also point to interesting
new information on the OCLC website ( http://www.oclc.org/).
To ask specific questions about OCLC, please continue to contact the FEDLINK
OCLC Team directly, at [email protected],
(202) 707-4800, or fax (202) 707-4837.
