  • -  Sefer Ethan ha-Ezrahi, by Samuel b. Hayyim Acatriel ha-Levi Levine. Two versions of the same novel. Written just after the first Zionist Congress in 1896, the author, adopting Theodore Herzl's vision of a Jewish state, ends the novel with a mass immigration of Jews to the Land of Israel. Each version was copied by a different hand. It seems that the version in LC Hebr. Ms 77B is the final version and there are numerous corrections in different hands.
  • -  Ashkenazic semi-cursive scripts.
  • -  Description based on finding aid; merged records for 77A and 77B to be a 2 vol. set.
  • -  According to the title pages of both volumes, the novel was written in Yekaterinoslav [Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine] in 5658=1897/8 שנת התרנ"ח לפ"ק יעקאטערענאסלאוו. Enclosed with the volumes is a letter dated Feb 21 1961, from the author's son, B.S.
