Program Library of Congress Publishing Office

For Publishers

The Library of Congress Publishing Office collaborates with a variety of publishers to plan and publish new titles through a cooperative publishing program that enables both parties to share risk and leverage respective strengths. Our editorial team works with curators, subject specialists, and scholars to develop ideas and oversee the editorial development of each new project. We deliver complete manuscripts that often require little more than a light copyedit. We provide high-resolution images from the Library’s collections and obtain permission for the reuse of images and text that are protected by copyright. We also work with the Library’s Office of Communications and the Library of Congress Shop to amplify the outreach and marketing efforts of co-publishers, especially when releasing new works to accompany major public exhibitions.
